Internet and World Wide Web

The Internet Today Internet has come a long way since 1960s. The Internet today is not a simple hierarchical structure. It is made up of very local and wide area networks joined by connecting devices and switching stations. Today Internet is run by private companies and not government.   Most people know the Internet through its applications: the World Wide Web, email, streaming audio and video, chat rooms, and music (file) sharing.
