Understanding the concept of E-Commerce


E-Commerce involves three inter related themes.

1) technology
2) business
3) Society

Technology includes internet, computer, modem, internet service provider, websites, web servers, networks, client person. 

Business- While technology provides infrastructure, business application provides potential prospects  of Return on Investment. The technology has provided new ways for organizing productions and doing transactions, the basic concept like knowledge of electronic markets, business models, industry of value market, consumer behavior in the E-market should be understood.

Society- The primary societal issues like intellectual property, individual privacy and the public policy should be understood.

According to the Facebook data analyst (Inside Facebook Gold's 2011 data), India was the third largest Facebook market after US and Indonesia, at 34.6 million users. And the growth rate of Indian users is at 162.4%, second only to that of Brazil.

The upsurge has come from better and faster connectivity and accessibility. Facebook is now even accessible via regional Indian languages like Punjabi or Bengali. The real boost has come from Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs) and smartphones which has enabled people to stay connected while on the go.
