All of us have got this post-result declaration trauma of being "useless", "hopeless", "unsuccessful"...and so on. Even the toppers of the class, who secured 99.99% in his finals would be called the same by the person of his concern for NOT scoring that remaining 0.01%..SERIOUSLY?!
While I was thinking about Being Unsuccessful, I thought of consulting few of the best advisers around me (of-course my family and close friends) and asked them to tell me how to be successful. I got some interesting (and obvious) replies like study hard, score more, get a good job, earn in six digit (as if I am going to hire myself in my own company and decide my salary..if so, then whats the problem in earning in seven digits). I wasn't quiet impressed so i randomly started asking people around me. My maid said-"getting my children to school is success for me", my next door neighbor's son who is 5years old replied-"reciting A-Z without any mistake" and then one of my friends said-"securing passing marks in hindi was a matter for grand celebration". Although he got blacks-and-blues from his parents but still he threw a grand party for all of us. This was then that I realized that SUCCESS has NO DEFINITION and definitely, there exist NO WORD like UNSUCCESSFUL.
I came across this watsapp message few days back-
There exists no word like dark, its just absence of light. Similarly, there is no word like cold, its the absence of heat.
Then my "creative" mind came up with its own theory (it seems as if Edward Cullen had to explain one), SUCCESS is like FINGER PRINT. For different people, under different circumstances, success have different meaning. Ranging from being able to tie shoe-lace on your own to speaking without stammering, from being able to complete exam on time to cooking without spoiling the dish; success sees no boundaries and no parameters. At one instance, scoring a goal for a match can be a success for you and on the other, tolerating non-sense of your colleague without loosing mind can be a huge success.
